I am just about 2 years shy of finishing my college career, and it dawned on me that I’ve fallen into a really, really boring routine. “How could college be boring?!” one would ask. It’s a lot easier than you think.
Like most college students, endless food at the cafe really caught up to me and I am still dealing with those extra pounds. With all the stresses and anxieties students fall victim to while trying to balance school and life, the food you eat becomes something you don’t worry about. Unfortunately, food isn’t the only thing you stop worrying about either.
This is where the “really, really” boring life routine comes. You start putting aside the fun and healthy parts of life to solely focus on schoolwork or other things such as a job (along with school!). Before you know it, everyday looks like this: School, work, bad for you food in the mix, sleep, and repeat! Overtime, this can make a person miserable and I realized it was happening to me. Not only was I finding myself to be stressed or anxious, I was starting to understand I was becoming disinterested in life. Even if I had the option to get to the gym, or hanging out with friends I was choosing to stay at home by myself.
That is not me at all, I’ve always taken pride in my up-beat spirit and love for adventuring and having fun. Before I know it, I’m going to be out of college and then it is off to the “real world”. I want to make the most of the rest of my time here at my university.
This blog is solely to motivate myself to start making healthier decisions, for my body and my mind. I am way too young to let myself fall into such an unhealthy lifestyle this early. I’m hoping that keeping up with posts can encourage me to stay motivated- and motivate others.
